Shaping Canada's Vast Musical Landscape

Support CNCM

As part of its 2010-2011 fundraising campaign, CNCM is working to meet a target of $500,000. This money will be used in a variety of ways, including supporting the growing body of Canadian-content focused publications produced by CNCM; a scholarship program fostering and encouraging Canadian talent; educational events, workshops and seminars held throughout the year; and allowing CNCM to hire full-time professionals thus ensuring continued growth of the organization.

Sponsoring Events

Support CNCM’s annual piano pedagogy event, Summer Sizzle, and coinciding youth event, Keyboard Kamp. Funding is needed to cover the costs of these two events, enabling CNCM to offer Keyboard Kamp to participants for free.

Additionally, CNCM also offers two types of interactive workshops for teachers and students throughout the year. Coaching Classes and Composers & Kids. Through your support, CNCM will be able to offer numerous  workshops in the year ahead thus bringing premier music education to students across the country.

Sponsoring Programs

To better support Canada's future musicians, CNCM is always developing new educational programs. Considerable effort and professional expertise are required in the creation of any new music program. Currently, CNCM is seeking name recognition benefactors for new comprehensive Strings and Voice programs, respectively.

Sponsoring Scholarships

Through its comprehensive Scholarships & Awards Program, CNCM invests in Canadian talent. Although students will be the primary recipients of CNCM grants, with a target of issuing up to 60 this year, encouraging teachers to continue developing their skills is also a focus. Thus, CNCM will offer up to 15 grants to outstanding teachers to continue their education. In its dedication to bringing arts and culture to all Canadians, CNCM will offer up to 10 travel grants to students, teachers and other practitioners wishing to attend its workshops and events. Finally, in fostering Canadian content, CNCM will offer up to 10 awards this year for composers to develop new pieces of music to be used in its publications.

Sponsoring Publications

CNCM publications present yet another direct sponsorship opportunity to benefactors who commit to providing $5000 or more annually for 5 years. With over 16 books currently available, including its flagship series Northern Lights and Making Tracks, CNCM publications offer benefactors a highly-visible opportunity for sponsorship. Donors supporting a publication will receive a full-page advertising spot in the sponsored book for the duration of the sponsorship agreement. Funds donated will go to covering the costs associated with the publication of CNCM books.

Sponsoring The Organization

CNCM has to date been run predominately by a team of volunteers. In order to ensure continued growth of the organization and provide high-quality music programming to rural Canadians, CNCM understands the need to hire full-time professionals. Part of the proceeds raised through the 2010-2011 fundraising campaign will go to providing compensation for CNCM staff, including the conservatory’s principal, registrar, financial officer, office support staff and community outreach professional.
