Summer Sizzle & Keyboard Kamp
Summer Sizzle includes a complete three-day Keyboard Kamp for students aged 8 to 21. Keyboard Kamp offers students master classes taught by experts ranging in subject matter from composition to overcoming stage fright.

Summer Sizzle 2010 is moving to the new and spacious Mount Forest Community Centre. This facility features large air conditioned rooms, walking track, state of the art PA systems, and high speed internet in bright and attractive surroundings.
Summer Sizzle 2010 welcomes Christopher Norton (Great Britain), Marc Widner (ON), Nancy Telfer (ON), Dr. Stephen Fiess (Colorado), Clifford Crawley (NFLD), Ernst Schneider (BC), Joyce Pinckney (AB), Tyler Seidenberg (ON), Paul Coates (ON), Julianne Dick (MB), Karen Rowell (ON), Dr. Maureen Volk (NFLD). Janet Gieck (SK), Andrew Harbridge (ON), Michael Dobinson (ON), and Rémi Bouchard (MB), as well as many more Canadian composers from across Canada. Summer Sizzle 10: A Piano Pedagogy Symposium offers experienced and new teachers, as well as senior students, a variety of workshops, showcases and concerts.
‘Summer Sizzle 10’ hosts:
- 10 Pedagogy Workshops: guest clinicians from across Canada, the United States and Britain will offer ten one-hour pedagogy workshops. Topics will include 10 Stylistic Characteristics of the Romantic Period; 10 Easy Pieces by Béla Bartók; Beethoven’s Opus 10 Sonata; and much more (watch our website for regular updates and additions.
- Master Classes: master classes featuring our Keyboard Kamp students are hosted by Christopher Norton and visiting Canadian composers.
- Showcases: featuring new Canadian works.
- New Product Music Blitzes: 15 minute New Product Blitzes provide teachers with an opportunity to learn about new and exciting Canadian music products.
- Evening Concerts: Summer Sizzle hosts two exciting concerts. Sunday evening is the Gala of New Canadian works, premiering the latest Northern Lights material. Works will be performed by students and visiting composers. The Monday evening concert is a delightful student/composer concert featuring the work of Christopher Norton.
- Mini Recitals: our new facility allows for short mealtime recitals by visiting guests. Dr. Stephen Fiess will perform from the Chopin Opus 10.
- Trade Show: Summer Sizzle Trade Show has grown each year and 2010 will be no exception. Students, teachers, parents and audiences will have the opportunity to browse and review the latest music, texts, recording, teaching materials and giftware during these relaxed 30-minute sessions.
- Coffee Breaks: Summer Sizzle hosts five nutritious and energizing coffee breaks throughout the three days.
- Commercial Showcases: featuring two leading Canadian companies; Mayfair Music and Novus Via Music
- Meals: Summer Sizzle is proud to provide full course, nutritious and delicious meals. Sunday dinner, Monday lunch and dinner,and Tuesday lunch is included in the registration fees.
- Billeting for out-of-town guests: it is possible to arrange billeting for out-of-town guests. Local families and teachers are opening their homes to Summer Sizzle guests. Please contact the CNCM office for more information.
